Camping
The Mississippi Valley Council provides many different outdoor programs for Scouts BSA, Cub Scouts and Venturing Crews. Some programs and rentals are also available to other organizations who are interested in using one of our camp properties.
Outdoor Programs include summer camps at Camp Eastman and Saukenauk.

Camp Eastman
Camp Eastman is located just off IL 96 (The River Road) 7.5 miles south of Nauvoo, IL or 5.5 miles north of Hamilton, IL. It is the property of the Mississippi Valley Council.

Saukenauk Scout Reservation
Saukenauk Scout Reservation is located 25 miles north of Quincy and 4 miles east of Lima, Illinois. It is the property of the Mississippi Valley Council. Saukenauk is 602 acres that includes three camps.
Adventure Camps
Nature, shooting sports, Scoutcraft, watersports, and more! The essential elements that make resident camp fun for Scouts are founded in what makes Scouting great for our youth.
Cub Scout Adventure Camp
A 2-Night/3-Day adventure at Camp Eastman, located on the bluffs above the Mississippi River.
Scouts can experience life-changing adventures as they learn new skills, make new friends, and experience nature like never before! This camp is designed for the family to have a great time in the outdoors, we encourage every Scout to have a parent attend to assist with activities and join in on the fun!
WHO: Boys & Girls entering grades 1-3 in the fall, their parents, leaders, and den chiefs
WHEN: Two opportunities from which to choose:
Session A: June 12th, 2026 – June 14th, 2026
Session B: June 19th, 2026 – June 21st, 2026
Webelos and Arrow of Light Adventure Camp
A 3-Night/4-Day adventure at Saukenauk Scout Reservation located 25 miles north of Quincy and 4 miles east of Lima, Illinois.
Scouts have the opportunity to experience life-changing adventures as they learn new skills, make new friends, and experience nature like never before!
This camp is intended for youth entering 4th and 5th grades in the fall, parents, leaders, and Den Chiefs.
With access to the shores of Lake of the Woods, our summer resident camp is where Cub Scouts can make a splash and cool off in the summer heat! All swim activities are supervised by aquatics staff that are trained in Aquatics Safety by an Aquatics Director to ensure that our Cub Scouts are able to have fun in a safe environment.
WHO: Youth entering grades 4 & 5 in the fall, their parents, leaders, and den chiefs
WHEN: June 24th, 2026 – June 27th, 2026
Troop Summer Camp
Scout BSA Summer Camp is one of the staple of the Scouting Experience. Enjoy a week long camp at either Saukenauk Scout Reservation or Camp Eastman. Learning new skills, making friends and having fun.
At Saukenauk enjoy climbing the 30ft Climbing Wall, or soaring over the tree tops on the Zipline.
At Camp Eastman, enjoy small boat activity, taking a cool dip in the swimming pool.
Can’t make it with your troop or would like to attend a second week? We also offer Provisional Troops for Scouts.
